Some Hard Truths About PUSA

Guys,
There should be no faintest doubt that I love PUSA. For PUSA has been the pedestal wherewithal we were shoved to where we are now. PUSA has been our lifeblood.

And that's where the dillema is.

Are we as Pokot intellectuals satisfied about the strides that PUSA has made in the past and is making now?

Has PUSA served us in terms of getting more opportunities, advancement of bigger ideas, seeking relevance to the community and upholding transparency?

Are we satisfied about the progress we are making almost 20 years since inception? Can we boast as an association of having put institutional frameworks in place for smoothful transition?

These are some of the questions that we ask as honest, PUSA-loving devotees. We are not targeting individuals here and this is hardly a smear campaign. This is our reality check.

There is something very disturbing about PUSA. Members don't own PUSA. The officials do. As a result, no member is interested on how our PUSA is faring on. In any case, we turn up on December and perform the ritual of electing individuals to be our office bearers. We shout and holler and rant and rave for a day and keep mum afterwards. No more enquiries. No more of those heated exchanges or seeking answers.

Where as PUSA are we going? Whence went our dream..I mean the Pokot dream. The Pokot Dream of our forebears. The dream that we will be the torch and given the long journey ahead of us we should not fight over some tweedle little things. We should fight for ideas
